Known for it's dead-leaf mimicry on it's underwing and bright orange outer wing which is often time folded and unseen at rest. This is a medium-small sized butterfly. Top wings have a notable hook shape that make their appearance distinct
West central ga. Host plant is goatweed (croton sp)
These butterflies are notoriously shy in my opinion and I've been trying to get close enough to get a decent shot for about two weeks. This one finally gave in to my chase and allowed me within a few inches for a photo! Yay!
