Description:

This species of Mycena is said to be highly variable in colour and cap shape as can be seen here. There were two clumps of mycena both with grey stipes but one with umbonate caps and the other smooth and rounded. One also showed slightly frayed cap margins. Gills were white.

Habitat:

Spotted on a large eucalypt - damp eucalypt forest.

Notes:

These are said to be closely associated with stringy bark eucalypts.
