Phidippus purpuratus

Phidippus purpuratus

Description:

This spider was hanging out in our folded up umbrella. At the time, this was the largest jumper I'd ever seen. At about 10 mm in length, it was quite large, and it was really active as well.

Habitat:

At the side of an old building in the woods.

Thanks LuckyLogan. It wasn't easy, I had to keep it captured under an upside-down jar for quite some time. I will try to remember to add a dorsal shot tomorrow.
