Prominent Moth

Cerura sp.

Description:

Cream colored moth with dark markings. The underwings are small and dark grey ( a little is visible in the second picture). About 2 cm long. Possibly a species of Cerura, one of the Puss Moths. Family Notodontidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you e.drinnon. I am not so sure of the species, it seems different than the other C. scitiscripta I looked at. I'll take more photos of it next time I see it.
