Hi Lauren, thank you for the ID help I also thought Tetraponera rufonigra based on a paper re ant spacies in Thailand. Have changed the common name. Thanks again.

Hi. Rob. Your cool ant is a Tree ant: a Pseudomyrmecinae, probably Tetraponera rufonigra.
