Mexican Marigold

Tagetes erecta

Description:

Also called Aztec marigold, it is a species of the genus Tagetes native to Mexico. Nowadays, it is widely cultivated commercially with many cultivars in use as ornamental plants and for the cut-flower trade.

Habitat:

Originally found in Mexico, Tagetes erecta can now be found in gardens across all continents except Antarctica, with some countries regarding it as an evasive species.
