Ring-billed Gull (Very Young)

Larus delawarensis

Description:

This small, fluffy baby had little fear of humans as it wandered along the trail.

Habitat:

Their breeding habitat is near lakes, rivers or the coast in Canada and the northern United States. These are the gulls you're most likely to see far away from coastal areas—in fact, most Ring-billed Gulls nest in the interior of the continent, near freshwater. They nest colonially on the ground, often on islands.

Notes:

Spotted near the walking paths to the Cave of the Winds at Niagara Falls State Park (NY)
