Spotted Sandpiper

Actitis macularius

Description:

Shorebird that during the breeding period will have dark spots on the underside. But during winter the underside is white. Can be identified by what some birders say a finger of white over the wing. It's legs are yellow and bill is orange. They have a faint white line above the eye and brown line across the eyes. Back is brown and this one has still a pattern on the wings which may mean it is still a juvenile.

Habitat:

shorelines usually walking along rocky shores.
