Description:

Shrub with maple-like leaves and thornless, hairy stems. The flowers are 1-2 in across and purplish-pink, berries are dull red, cup-shaped, and somewhat flattened.

Habitat:

Moist rocky woods, ravines, and thickets in South East Canada down to Georgia
