Lesser grapevine looper

Eulithis diversilineata

Description:

Hodges 7196. Forewings pale yellow-orange with thin brown lines and pointed, spiky, almost hook-like tips.

Habitat:

Came to porch light in area surrounded by deciduous woods and open fields.

Notes:

This moth was actually quite beautiful. The delicately lined forewings remind me of watermarks made by tea bags left out on paper. The hooked wing tips are very graceful and unusual.
