Black-bellied Whistling Duck

Dendrocygna autumnalis

Description:

These ducklings are probably the cutest baby ducks I've ever seen! Their heads are yellow and brown striped while the bodies are spotted. The parents had 12 little ones, I'm sure that kept their hands full :)

Habitat:

In a small pond at the entrance to Anahuac NWR. They had the pond to themselves besides a few shorebirds. Nice little family :)
