Variegated Flutterer

Rhyothemis variegata

Description:

Eye catching shades of yellow and black plus transparent patches on wings. Weak flight. Aptly named: Flutter- er.

Habitat:

This one was spotted in the campus of a government office; at the intersection of two very busy roads. The small garden, with its beds of Gomphrena, must have seemed like an oasis to the dragonfly.

Notes:

Also known as Common Picture Wing.
