Nasutitermes walkeri

Description:

This is one of several nests at Kumbartcho Sanctuary at Eatons Hill, on the northern border of the capital city of Queensland (Brisbane). Kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae) made a hole in the Nest to feed on the Termite Soldiers and then a Brustail Possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) moved in and is having a wash before settling in.

Habitat:

This nest is in Riparian Rainforest but the nests are found in most wooded Habitats. They are equally at home on Wooden fence posts.

Welcome to Project Noah Garry!

What a most interesting first contribution! I have relocated it to the Arthropods category for you, and edited the Scientific name field so that it contains only the latin binomial name. If you wish we can edit the spotting again and use tags to add the extra species which are featured in it.

You may find this mission intersting:
http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082...

If so, join the mission, then edit your spotting again and add it to the mission which will have appreated in a mission menu to the right.

Welcome again!
