Description:

This lorikeet is mostly green, with a yellow patch at the side of the breast. It has a bright red forehead and band through the eye to the ear coverts. The crown is blue, with females having less blue than males.

Thanks everyone. This was a very special spot for me. I've never seen this beautiful bird before. It was a friend that spotted it - 3 of us had walked straight past and my 4th friend said it climbed out of a hole in a tree right next to him and sat on this branch. All 4 of us were able to stand and watch only a few metres away while he posed a few times before flying off.

Awesome spotting Rachael. They're never sitting still when I see them. Which is to say that they are flying so quickly between the trees that I barely catch sight of them.
