Pied Oystercatcher

Haematopus longirostris

Description:

Three oystercatchers watching the receding tide carefully for snacks.
The silver gulls typically were watching the oystercatchers for incidental morsels.

Habitat:

On a partially rocky ocean foreshore in far east Victoria with an outgoing tide.
National Park

Notes:

The 3 seemed to work as an organised unit as they progressed along the shore-break.
