Caltoris philippina philippina
Hesperiidae; Hesperiinae; Caltoris philippina philippina Herrich-Schäffer 1869. "Hesperiinae larvae feed on grasses and sedges. Adults typically visit flowers and hold their wings together while feeding. They hold their wings partially open while resting, with the forewings and hindwings held at different angles. They are usually orange, rust, or brown in colour and have pointed forewings. Many species have dark markings or black stigmas on their forewings." Philippine Lepidoptera.
Spotted behind the rice mill on unidentified foliage near several stands of Bamboo (Bambusa sp.).
There is an excellent paper from Singapore where this butterfly is present: "Life History of the Philippine Swift (Caltoris philippina) " which includes the ssp. philippina. - https://butterflycircle.blogspot.com/201...
