Micro-Lepidoptera

Description:

Small colorful moth, 5 mm in length. Something that is very interesting about micro moths is that although their bodies are much smaller than most other moths, their scales are not. It is as though there is a minimal limit to the functional size of moth scales. The scales on tiny moths often look too large for their wings.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
