A common mammal of the American west that feeds on various types of plant matter. They spend most of their time within burrows, sometimes dragging entire plants within to eat in the relative safety of the underground.

Thanks @li_ivy98! I found these gophers throughout Golden Gate Park - just look for holes in the ground near vegetation and one should poke out eventually :)
