Description:

At this stage this can really be hard to identify the difference between the two species beside examining the tail feathers. At this time of year both species can be found at this location. So this could be a female Rufous or a male Allen's.

Habitat:

This was and others found in the botanical gardens. Many were fighting for territory of the best flowers. Even chasing off Anna's Hummingbirds.
