Habitat:

border between lawn and wooded area in town

Notes:

This feisty garter snake did not like being handled, but was happy to be released in the woods after straying too close to the lawn mower

This shot reminds me of our son, holding a whole bunch of newborn garter snakes in his hand trying to tell mom all about it..in the house...hahaha..

As a girl my daughter was the one in the neighborhood to call on to remove a snake or skunk. The only time she got bitten was by a garter snake. They seem to have short tempers.
