hmmm. Youre evidence is strong. Well done, bayucca, you just might have nailed it! Boy are they similar, though. The beak is the main piece of evidence you have. good job!

Sorry, Caleb, but I have to challenge your ID ;-)...
Chestnut is OK, but in my eyes this looks more like the Chestnut-breasted Coronet, Boissonneaua matthewsii.
Bill is completely black, whereas in Amazilia castaneiventris it is red on the underside:
The white spot behind the eyes in much stronger in Boissonneaua matthewsii:
The color in this one is brighter with some black edges:
But I must admit they are really very similar.
