Glass Frog

Centrolenella sp new genus : Cochranella euknemos

Description:

This specimen is about 3 cm long. It back has white patches and very small parotid glands. The head lacks ridges. No fold back on the head. The belly is transparent in live specimens, allowing you to see the internal organs. It is considered an endangered species and protected and regulated by the Law of Conservation of Wildlife.

Habitat:

Rain Forest of Costa Rica , Panama and North Colombia. In CR, In wetlands, low and medium of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range, between 840 and 1,500 m. elevation (Savage 2002).

Ashish if you go to my spottings and filters them by type, you can see the ones in amphibias I have place for the project.

I do...
I go all around the country, to the forest, rivers, ocean etc as much as i can i bring a camera...I have more than 20000 pictures, so it will take me a long time to post them in the project. many of the specimens are not identifided... So I start with the ones I know well or the ones I need some help.... YOU ALL HAVE HELP ME A LOT.

Ah euknemos, the species name derives from Greek and means the one with beautiful legs.

This frog was change to Cochranella euknemos. the old genus is still used in many books.
more changes are on the way.....
