Zonotrichia albicollis
There are two color versions of this bird. This individual exhibits the white-striped version. The second version has browner stripes.
Summer range extends from central Canada to the New England states. They winter in southern and eastern U.S. and the Canada Maritime Provinces.
They are migrating through southern and central Minnesota right now. In fact, there are several feeding on my deck right now (May 2). I often hear their thin plaintive calls and see them while wilderness canoeing in northern Minnesota and in western Ontario.

Wow incroyable detail ! nice :)
Such a sharp good picture!
Laura, These birds are just passing through our area right now (central Minnesota) and will soon be gone as they search out breeding areas further north, including Canada. I always look forward to this time of year; gotta love these little birds and their songs. Thanks for your comments.
He's a very charming bird, what a nice pose :) Lovely colours! I remember seeing these when I lived in Canada.
What a pretty little thing - sparrows are usually so plain looking
