Eurasian Jackdaw

Corvus monedula

Description:

approx. 12 inches; black with slate-grey nape and pale grey eyes

Habitat:

spotted in large maple tree on the grounds of Blarney Castle

Notes:

I was stopped on my way to the castle itself by the begging cries of a youngster in a cavity of the tree where a branch had be removed.
