Metallic Wood-Boring Beetle

Description:

This beetle looks superficially like another spotting from the same place. They fooled me until I looked at the pictures enlarged! This one is a metallic bronze color with yellow markings. Both beetles are of similar size. Family Buprestidae. (Previous spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/612...)

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
