Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Description:

Bright yellow above with ragged black stripes, like those of a tiger, along the anterior forewings, and black marginal patterning on both fore and hind wings. The first submarginal spot on the hindwing is orange. The underside is patterned similarly but much paler yellow. The body has black and yellow stripes.

Habitat:

Spotted on north Cotton Lake road near a mailbox.
