Grass Spider in cobweb (female)

Agelenopsis sp.

Description:

large, several cm long toe to toe anterior to posterior

Habitat:

Cob webs on the surface of Pachysandra fields, a garden ground cover plant. The spiders are rarely in them, this time I got lucky and one was right on the top in the middle of the web. The slightest movement and they dart away under the leaves.

Notes:

Family Agelenidae "Funnel Weavers"
