A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Agelenidae ssp.
The unique web of this group of spiders is more often noticed than the spider itself. It is sheetlike, usually positioned horizontally, with a funnel leading downward. This large web covered about one square foot, or .3 square meters. The funnel hole was slightly less than 1 inch or 2.5 cm.
In the grass along the path of an urban park.
Several webs, only this one had the spider out of the funnel.
