This specimen has all white plumage, a yellow bill, and black legs.
The great egret is distributed throughout much of North America, as well as in many tropical and temperate regions around the world.
The egret is a wading bird but was seen atop a covering for a boat up on a lift while cruising inland waterways in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This sighting took place on Long Creek between the Lynnhaven River and Broad Bay.
