grub

Description:

This grub tasted like coconut. Delicious!

Habitat:

rainforest palm

Notes:

Our guide dug these grubs out of a tree. They really tasted very good. I couldn't believe how much like coconut they tasted. Unfortunately, I never got the name of the tree they were eating or their own name.

I did eat grubs in Australia. Not sure which one, but probably witchety. It was back in 1998. I don't remember them tasting nearly as good as these grubs in Brazil though.
