Spotting

Description:

Fairly small beetle with green eyes. Coccinellidae family? This species eats leaves. While most Coccinellidae eat insects, there are some that eat leaves.

Habitat:

Photographed in overgrown urban area.

Notes:

There seems to be some sort of relationship between this beetle species and ants. On several occasions I have observed ants interacting with this beetle. The final photo is a different individual photographed at a different time, but I wanted to show the beetle's backside to have a complete picture. Note there is an ant interacting with the beetle in this photo also.
