Wood Cranesbill/Woodland Geranium

Geranium sylvaticum

Description:

Wood cranesbill spotted in a prealpine forest (1400 m). The leafs (3rd shot) are deeply dissected but not as much as those of Geranium pratense, with which it can be confused.

Habitat:

Found in forests. Native to Europe at least.

Notes:

Their colour varies depending on the nature of the soil: purple to blue.
