Cherrie's Tanager

Ramphocelus costaricensis

Description:

Black bird with vibrant red feathers and a bluish-gray bill.

Habitat:

Tropical Rainforest

Notes:

Found at La Selva Biological Station in Heredia, Costa Rica. This one was flying around the cafeteria. I was amazed by the contrast of its black and red feathers. When it's flying, the red just pops out very brightly.
