Mallard Ducks

Anas platyrhynchos

Description:

The whole gang is here! There were a few families in the pond, but I was able to capture two of the moms, one of the dads, and two of the ducklings. The duckling in the first picture was very precocious! She was wandering completely away from the group, being curious, and the other duckling was a mamma's boy!! He never left her! They were a cute gang! We got to feed them too, but there were some geese that were bigger and threatening and were fighting to get to the food first. Fortunately, I was able to throw the food right in front of the ducks so they could grab it before the geese :)
