Copperbelly Water snake

Nerodia erythrogaster neglecta

Description:

A copperbelly water snake sitting partially underwater.

Habitat:

I found it in a creek in holly springs, NC. I have visited that creek since childhood and there are a large number of fish, crayfish, frogs, and salamanders living in it, so plenty of things for this snake to eat

Notes:

It didn't seem too frightened of me
