Cathartes aura
Turkey Vultures are large dark birds with long, broad wings. Bigger than other raptors except eagles and condors, they have long "fingers" at their wingtips and long tails that extend past their toe tips in flight. When soaring, Turkey Vultures hold their wings slightly raised, making a ‘V’ when seen head-on

This was the day that the vultures were migrating. There had to be 200-300 vultures over the bluffs and lake at Devil's Lake that day. It was incredible!

I added it to the Raptors of North America mission. Thanks for the heads up! It was pretty impressive to see that many vultures in one spot! They come to Devil's Lake State Park, WI every fall, around Columbus Day and gather before heading south again.
Wow!! Impressive!! I saw a sight like this when I was in Costa Rica and the Turkey Vultures were migrating through...it was amazing! I'd love you to add this spotting to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627...
