Epidendrum nocturnum
Epiphytic orchid that was found in in the forests near this spotting location. The blooms last only one morning.
Was found on the forest flood, fallen out of the canopy. It's been attached to a wooden post now for a couple years.

Hmm, yeah, those do look very close. I see some images of E. nocturnum with reddish foliage but not sure if its that.
Thanks Dan. I just got a suggestion off of Facebook and I think it might be Epidendrum nocturnum, but E.carpophorum And E. tridens seem very similar. Also all the images of those orchids that I found on the internet showed bright green foliage and mine is purplish when young and remains reddish later on.
Beautiful orchid. I would think it's an Encyclia or something related.
