Description:

Saw this flowering plant while walking my dogs through Belair national park, looks a little like an emu bush but in fact its a member of the Heath family.

Habitat:

Adelaide hills, Open eucalypt forest

Notes:

small erect shrub to 1m high, stems hairy, Leaves are linear or linear-lanceolate 1-2cm long, Flowers are bright red and tubular up to 2cm long, often drooping solitary in leaf axis; petals silky-hairy, stamens enclosed
