Gray Hairstreak

Strymon melinus

Description:

Just chilling in the flower bed, was not feeding.

Habitat:

Hanging out in my Echinacae in outskirts of city. Lots of agriculture and suburban neighborhoods around here.

Notes:

This little blue butterfly showed up in my yard a few days ago. This is the first butterfly besides cabbage moths to land in my yard this season. I have been looking very hard, so was excited to see it. How can I encourage butterflies to lay eggs on my property?
