Ring-tailed lemur

Lemur catta

Description:

Only found in Madagascar, ring-tailed lemurs spend a lot of time on solid ground, climbing trees when it needs to feed on fruit and leaves. It is threatened due to loss of habitat. These guys were spotted at the Melbourne Zoo. I hope to spot them in the Malagasy wild in the not too distant future (on eco-friendly tour, of course).
