Falco naumanni
The Lesser Kestrel is very similar looking to the Common Kestrel. There are only a few ways yu can distinguish Lesser Kestrel a from a Common: Male: No mustache below the eyes and no spots on the back, less spotting on the chest, bluish wing panel on the back, head more bluish, underwing more whitish with darker tips. Female: hard to distinguish, paler underside on average with finer streaks, finer moustachial stripe, lacks dark streak from eye and back Both: White claws, slightly shorter wings and tail, which are broader when fully spread
Some Lesser Kestrels are residents in Kuwait and breed here. The Lesser Kestrel is registered as vulnerable wit the IUCN Red List, trend is decreasing. That doesn't stop some idiots in this country from hunting and shooting these (and other) birds :(
