Yep, traveler palm, Ravenala madagascariensis. It's actually a bird-of-paradise (Strelitzia).

Yes, i have one in my garden here in Quito, they called them traveler palm here in Ecuador

This palm is called this way because it is supposedly always pointing west and east, so it is used as a guidance by travelers.
