I think this is likely a Spurge Hawkmoth (Hyles euphorbiae). Adult are pretty variable in color, but your area is within the normal range for this moth. Thanks for sharing the photo!

yeah i found it in our garage and immediately told everyone not to touch it so i could get it on project noah!
