Ya, and the rain took a long time to fill the lake back up too!

You've apparently had a long drought then

Actually it could be much higher! There was a huge drought where nearly the whole lake dried out. When it did, tons of trees grew like these. It was a valley of swampy vegetation until the rain returned. Its now the fullest its been in about five years, but it killed nearly all plants including the trees! These are some of the ones that survived!
