Psidium guajava
Common fruit tree in this area. Large oval leave, clearly veined, new growth is a reddish-brown colour. Trunks and branches smooth, though with peeling bark as seen in second photo. Bears small, plum-sized fruits at the end of summer (September-October time) which are salmon-coloured inside and yellow skinned.
They are a great-looking plant, especially in tree-form. :) Thanks for the comments!
Wow such a beautiful plant,my grandma used to make a lot of Guava shakes and they were the best!!!!! They are my favorite fruit next to the Passion fruit.
