Dog Lichen

Description:

Dog Lichen size is 2-8 inches. On rock. Leathery sheet with scalloped edges. Upper surface downy, blue-gray or pale brown (dry) to dark brown (moist). Underside woolly, white to tan, with pale brown veins; fruiting bodies at edges, rolled resembling dogs teeth.

Habitat:

Moist woods, shaded road banks.
