Olive tree

Olea europaea

Description:

Evergreen tree with typically gnarled, twisted trunks in old trees, trunk often greyish-brown in colour. Leaves narrow lanceolate, grey-green in colour. Spikes of creamy flowers appear early summer, fruit follows after flower has died.

Notes:

Second picture shows olives growing on the tree. They will be ready to pick in October, we'll then take them to be pressed and get our own olive oil from them. The third photo shows a close up of the trunk of the tree in photo 1.
