Description:

Golden-winged Skimmers are a species of dragonfly that are native to North Carolina, and that breed in coastal or marshy areas.

Habitat:

Golden-winged Skimmers are fairly common throughout the whole state of North Carolina, but are concentrated in the Coastal Plains.

Notes:

A dragonfly that I believe to be a female Golden-winged Skimmer that was sitting on a vine in my yard.
