Lilac-Breasted Roller

Coracias caudatus

Description:

Unfortunately, the best photos I got of this beautiful bird were from the back. These photos do no justice to this birds amazing colors. My favorite way to see them was in flight, as their colors are so incredible with wings spread!

Habitat:

The Lilac-breasted Roller (Coracias caudatus) is a member of the roller family of birds. It is widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula, preferring open woodland and savanna; it is largely absent from treeless places.
