Rhododendron,

Rhododendron ponticum

Description:

These beauties are rare in our neighborhood, as all the other rhoda's are of the common purple variety. I planted these 2 bushes in 2007 on the front lawn of the house. They have survived 2 severe NJ winters, with 50+ inches of snow, several Nor'Easters, and Hurricane Irene!

Habitat:

"Vulcan’s Flame" reaches 5 feet in ten years. It is heat and sun tolerant, US Hardiness zones 5 to 9
